Striving for human happiness

Welcome to the International Society for Genomic and Evolutionary Microbiology or ISOGEM. The ISOGEM is registered in Sardinia, Italy as an International (not for profit) organization committed to the development of post genomic ideas in the context of better public health and the environment.  The society supports fruitful utilization and meaningful channelization of the wealth of all 'omics' data that are being generated as a result of hundreds of different microbial sequencing and several arraying projects.  To achieve this noble mission, the society will act to assemble scientists working in the areas of microbial pathogen genomics and health care.  Also it will act as an information centre for all aspects of microbial genomics.

The Society publishes Gut Pathogens, an international Open Access journal dealing with the biology, evolution and genomics of the pathogens and normal microflora relevant to the gut ecosystem. For more information on Gut Pathogens please visit the journal website.

The Society is currently managed by a three member Executive Committee comprising of Professor Leonardo A. Sechi (President), Dr Niyaz Ahmed (General Secretary) and Professor Stefania Zanetti (Treasurer). Membership of the society is often regarded as a highly respectable academic title and is by invitation only. All serving Editorial Board members of the Gut Pathogens journal are members of the society.
